How many Gyros in South Africa
I was asked at our club meeting in Australia last night if I knew how many Gyros were in SA. Any estimates?
The major distributors in South Africa are:
Magni: Butch Brown: gyrosa@mweb.co.za
MT-03: Theuns Eloff: teloff@mweb.co.za
Ela-aviation: Anthony Cohen: elaaviation@mweb.co.za
and some others.
They should know the answer.
My guess is apporaching 200 gyros, but would be interested to know the answer.

Auto-Gyro Calidus ZU-RRG
SA Avdex register:
Magni: 103
RAF: 27
Sycamore: 47
Ela: 48
Not sure how accurate those figures are (too few RAF's ?) or if I've searched correctly (by manufacturer / ICAO designate)
Also couldn't find any MT-03's (have no idea how many but perhps a dozen or so as a thumsbsuck?), Bensens, Helithrusters etc etc on the register?
I guess 250 gyros or so as a guesstimate?
