ROOKIE WINS AFRICA CUP !!

Postby Chaz » Tue Oct 16, 2007 10:04 am

So !! I hear through the grapevine that it took a rookie with 183hrs on a old Anteres 582 Microlight to win the Africa Cup overall

Apparently the GT450's were only better on the time trials !! There were 4 GT450's there dont know what other aircraft were participating and shux here i am considering a GT450. Hmmm that Anteres also sounds like a good proposition :D :D :D Just stirring guys

Anyway i suppose a hearty congratulations to Ferdi Hugo from Springs would be in order :D :D :D

Your's in Flying 8) 8) 8)

Unfortunately two of the GT 450 pilots are serious old bullets and had huge hadicaps. Without these the results would have been rather different. In fact if the competiotion is set up right it should not matter what aircraft the pilot flies as most tasks test the skills of the pilot and not the plane.

The whole point of the Afica Cup is to encourage new and low hour pilots to enter competitions. So no sour grapes here. Im delighted a new low hour pilot won and the handicap worked in his favour.

Lets get more new pilots entering competitions!!!
