No, the rescue chute is not a can of worms. They don't put worms into the can . It contains a rocket. It is a piece of high tech safety equipment.

As a low hour and short time pilot I can not say mush about this topic other than in the two years of my flying career I only had five scary incidence of witch only three were engine outs.

Now if I did not had enough altitude on at least three instances I would have been pulp by now.

Keep it high and keep it safe.
