Ja nee, ek ook. Gelukkig kan ek nie turbulensie sien nie terwyl ek vlieg. Net daarna, in my onderbroek. As ek turbulensie kon sien soos die golwe, dan was ek seker te bang om te vlieg.

Seasickness or motion sickness – have never had it.

For info, I have some 20 000 sea miles in my log book – mostly solo on a 42’ sloop rigged yacht.

Winds over 50 knots cause a massive sea. Was caught in 55 knots of wind for 2 days between Rodriques and Mauritius. Swells were averaging 7 metres. I backed a tiny storm jib against opposite helm and still made 7 knots good.

I was still navigating 8 miles off Mauritius which is usually unnecessary with an island several 1 000’ high in close proximity.

Seasickness or motion sickness – have never had it.

This is awesome stuff Henni! Thanks for posting.

I was looking at yesterdays wx and have a look at the two gusts mentioned, are those then freak gusts? Look at the speed difference. Are the instruments used that reliable?
