Gavin, is content the reason why we have not received what we paid for?? I just think that whats the point of contributing content if the mag never hits the press. Clearly there is a problem and I think most of the guys like myself enjoy and look forward to the mag, but get disappointed when it doesnt materialise. Maybe just being kept in the loop about whats happening would help. I dont think that many people will subscribe again, which is a pity because it is a nice mag
Actually yes that is the biggest problem. I understand the frustration of paying for something and not getting anything - been there but i still try to remain positive, instead of bashing the subject rather enquire on how to help - try to get the ball rolling. Everytime i have found the scribe i find she is running around begging people to submit on the time enough content to make the mag better than a news letter. Yes there are other problems aswell but if we swamp her with content then there is no excuse not to get the mag out on time. It is like an accident it is not one thing it is a whole series of problems that lead to the ultimate demise of a good thing. I do not want to make trouble but rather be part of the solution than part of the problem.

i am getting nothing out of the mag except what i put in and sometimes it may be late but the kids from the Orphanage were thrilled to see their pics in a magazine even though it was Six months after the fact. THEY DID NOT CARE.

I have no real connection to Scribe or the Mag i just like to sit a read something when out in the bush or sitting on the crapper.

I cannot decide for you guys but i would rather try to help and get a good mag out than piss on somebodys battery.

Sorry if i am wrong i will shutup now.

Agree Tailspin - but on the crapper, you'll get piles man!? and then you'll have to have a special seat on your plane...

Personally I just hope it we get an issue soon, I love looking at the photos and reading stories and I give out my mags to people who want to know more about microlighting.

I will continue to support the mag and pay. It's so little 1-2 hours flight cost. Yet just one issue is so rewarding and did I mention the pics?

The calendar, well, always gets comments from visitors.

It is a commercial operation and some have paid for the delivery of a product.

I have not found one person ever defending Eskom, Telkom or even our CAA when you pay for a service and the provider does not deliver.

Defending this commercial operation when they have not delivered what you have paid for does not make any sense to me. Even the voluntary MISASA offerings were more consistent than this.

I would side with any defense if the operation was not for profit, but anyone defending a commercial operation that has been paid and not delivered what it's subscribers expected is an accomplice to condoning non service delivery.

The acid test would be to ask any 'subscriber' if they would have deposited the funds for the magazine on the basis that the might get 1 or 2 out of the 6 promised issues and see how many would have deposited the funds.

I just hope Aero Club/MISASA have been prudent and did not pay over too much bucks to this commercial operation.

I can understand about paying for something and it being a black hole. I will subscribe next year as i think that the Mag can work but we as subscribers and pilots have a very active role to play in the content of the mag. Lets rather try to find a way to help :?:

I can understand why so many people are bitter about the Aviation industry - you can only make an activity as enjoyable as you want it to be.

I would also like an explination from time to time as why the mag is not out Agreed.

There are various other quotes about issues every 6 weeks to make up and then every 4 weeks , now it needs to be every 3 weeks. I paid for a service, not the promise of a service. I think its great and support the idea of more people contributing but I have never had a magazine blame its subscribers for a lack of content leading to a 6 month delay in publishing. I certainly dont get told my "Magnum" is late because contributors have not submitted. Its great to say support and help and yes we should, BUT this a paid for service...it is not my job to supply the content. My job is to subscribe, that is how I support the mag. Would everyone be so understanding if they had this service from Magnum, You, Cosmo, Fin Week or whatever other mag out there.

If you start a mag and you accept peoples money then deliver or close your doors. Dont tell me xyz happened so held back to include it or Joe Soap has not submitted his contribution on time so waiting. A subscription is a contract as far as I am concerned, you have my money and I have your promise to supply me with x issues at y intervals for z period.

It is a great mag and it will be sad if it does not make it but If I dont receive at least 3 of my 5 outstanding mags for the year by year end I will not be renewing my subscription.

Thats my rant for the day

Gert you love to travel and brag with your photo's why don't you write or make a column in the mag that will allways have stories of your travels

Tailspin, shooting the messenger? I contributed, when I saw that the editor is not serious about publishing, I stopped. As said in a later post, quite rightly,
It is a commercial operation and some have paid for the delivery of a product.

Me to I am guilty for not supplying the written word as did anly fly around the patch and few away trips, who else is guilty?

But yes I loved reading the kind of stories where and what we fly.
