Hi Rudi,
Crosswinds
You will always get a cuppa hot coffee there if people are around, very friendly people, I have my TBird hangared there.
Some Crosswinds info:
Circuits are to the North ( ie LH for 10 and RH for 28 ), join overhead at 6200 - remember you are under Lanseria's TMA which starts at 6500.
RW 10 brings you in directly over the Tarlton drag strip, there are wires along the road to look out for just before the threshold.
Ground is 5,200
2 windsocks, one on top of the largest hangar and 1 on the East side of the field. Only wind direction that is a little tricky is from the South West, if so, then land as short as possible on 28 to reduce any turbulence from the trees.
Airfield frequency in the circuit is 125.0 Mhz, we also announce on SP Rules West 125.8
"6.5 Nmiles northwest of Krugersdorp airfield" seems to be the most explanatory for any conflicting traffic.
Orient is 3Nm NorthWest of the field operating on 123.4 Mhz, Krugersdorp is on 122.0 Mhz
Enjoy :D
Cheers ian

Thanks guys
We had an excellent trip round JHB. 4 of us led by Rudy got lucky with the weather and had a wonderful 2:45 hour scenic tour of JHB. We did not offend any FAKRs or spread rabies, and unlike the Poms we did not even put foot in mouth.
All in all it was a good days flying.
Cheers
