Where can i find.........

Postby ICEMAN » Sat Jul 28, 2007 7:00 pm

I`ve heard that the some banks will finance a number of microlights that they deem as "approved"...... i think that foxbats, allegros, jabirus and a number of others are on this list......... anyone know if such a "list" exists and where i can source it from, ive been to the banking websites to check up on this but their aircraft finance application sections only have blank blocks for one to fill in the a/c details (unlike the cars and bikes where one can just choose a make and model off their websites pre-populated lists)...... what makes and models will they consider  and what`s ruled as "contraband"?

I know of someone who bought a Thunderbird through Wesbank and believe they okay with most 3 axis - the problem comes with the trikes where they start getting sticky.

If you do buy through a bank -insurance is mandatory
Am also not sure now with the new credit act how it will affect it

Best call them and ask for their aviation dept - compared to most a/c they finance that run in the millions microlights are probably a bit of a joke to them

Generally speaking - Factory built. It's hard to get finance for a kit or a home built aircraft.

May I recommend that you contact Morwezi Sebate who I found to be most helpful and knowledgeable in the past.
