Is it on the cards and if so when ?

From what I read in the Government Gazette the Recreational license and Sports Pilot license are one and the same thing and are referred to in part 62 of the regulations (please correct me if I'm wrong).
With this license you can fly basically any single engine aircraft up to 600kg and 45knot stall speed by doing a type rating. This includes Weight-shift, Gliders, Gyroplanes and hang-gliders to name a few.
However, the requirements for the rating would require the relevant type training, theoretical knowledge and skills test by a rated instructed.
License will be available as from 01/01/2008 :D

I think they will be included in Part 62 - but I have read that part and can find no indication that they have increased the speed and weight limits yet. Can you refer me to the section?

No grey area as I dont think it has materialised yet and is more than likely still work in progress.
