At last we had a some great flying weather on a weekend

We had a good flight to the west. The weather was really good. Thought we might be a bit low on juice and decided to stop in at a friendly strip down the valley for a top up.

But actually wasnt necessary in the end, we had more than enough to spare. The problem was that the new fuel flow sensor still has to be calibrated and it was crying wolf! Anyway, better safe than sinking!

When fitting these fuel flow meters to the 912 take note of the fuel return line as this will cause the meter to under read.

My favorite An Aquilla 503 round and round the patch at FAFK on Saturday (still a learning the trade ) and blown out on Sunday (Long way to go for a cup of coffee. Enjoyed the hanger talk though)

Flew excercises 1-6 on Sat and 6-11 on Sun at Catoridge in an Aquilla. Now I have 2.1hrs on the log :D

Did 12-13. Now getting dizzy of flying round in circles (downwind, base, finals, land, take-off, downwind, base....) :D
Problem is can only fly afternoons after 5 and with it getting dark so early, get only about 20 minutes in before hangar time. Getting there slowly.
Looking forward to that first solo :D

Hey C205, at least you get the time in the afternoons, I am relying on good weather over the weekends which took a while to materialise. I'm looking forward to circuits and nailing this landing thing

Wart I'm in Witbank, Mpumalanga. Also frustrated with this weather thing. No flying last night - wind; looks like no flying today - clouds & wind

I am based at Cato Ridge (KZN) and tried to get some time in yesterday but the weather was s**t. Went for my medical on Monday, so at least that is out of the way.
I am hoping that the weather sorts itself out by the weekend so that I can get a couple of hours in.
I'm off to Europe for 2 weeks so that puts me out of circulation for a while
