Getting fuel when flying to lowveld

Postby Big-D » Tue Jul 10, 2007 10:24 am

What do you do for fuel when flying to the lowveld?

We are flying down in less than 2 weeks, will be staying over at Graskop - No fuel available at our accomodation and no ground crew going along.

My Gemini takes 65 liters and I will fly with a 20l Jerry - Judging from the way Dieselfan is talking he plans to fly all day long while down there for 3 the days. We will need to refuel often.

Suggestions? I remember meeting Andrew Pappas in his Bantam at some "strip" at a filling station in Hazyview - That would probably be an option for juice.

Any other suggestions?

Take 2 jerry cans to start.

In Hazyview you can land at the Numbi hotel and then walk up the road to get fuel.

When we were there we stayed at Brian Youngs place in Barberton and he would cart us up and down to fuel station.

I think for Graskop maybe you could get a Taxi its not far from town.
