Did my medical this morning...

went to do my medical this morning at a guy in benoni, passed evrything so next year i can get my student license :lol: (cost R350)

got 7.4 hours dual logged so far with lessons booked every day from the 2nd of jan to the 9th

well done moose, I can't remember what I paid but that price you paid seems reasonable did it include the x-rays?

i didnt have to have x-rays apparently because it was a class 4 medical for a microlight. I did the lung test where you blow as hard as you can through a pipe and the heart test where they put those sticky pads all over your chest. then he tested my hearing and sight but that was it.

As far as i know you do nees x-rays for a zone 4 licence.....,.????

Nope also had to do the X-rays for Class 4 medical. I believe though its only when going for your medical the first time?

It is possible but the problem is is that the docs themselves are not clear on the microlight exam. I went for my second one last week and the doc admitted this. Under 40 yrs of age we supposed to get 4 yrs and he gave me 3. The previous doc gave me 2 :twisted: :evil:

I did email CAA and their doc, Bongani or something was very helpful and got back to me on all my mails - I would suggest to others who need to go for their exams to download the CAA med which morph put a link to, highlight the details like the 4 yrs validity etc, requirements etc and take it with you for the exam and show the doc. Remember some of these docs are just out to make bucks and they will do as much as possible to try make a few extra :idea:
