This morning the weather looked perfect for a little flip. I drove to the top of the hill and gazed over towards Morning Star to see if the normal blanket of mist was around and miracle of miracles, nothing. Raced out to the airfield and the damn easterly was blowing again
I decided stuff this 2 weeks without flying, and I have flown in heavier winds than this, , preflighted, jumped in, backtracked 02, could feel the plane trying to nose into the wind, No buffetting just constant 10km/h wind, at almost 90 deg to the runway. So away I went, take off

was interesting but OK, climbed up to 900 ft and flew towards the wind and away from the Bluegums. Smooth and silk :D :D
After 20min and running late for an appointment joined downwind, base and finals. Short finals very very interesting.

Lots of bumps over the trees and just before ground effect a huge rotor that lifted the right wing. Corrected this and flew her all the way in.

Phew!!!!
