Hello All

Postby Red Sands » Thu Jul 12, 2007 10:31 am

A quick hello to everyone
I'm new at flying & have yet to complete my MPL. Have purchased a Windlass Trike 503cc & i am based just outside Kuruman on Red Sands Country Lodge (where i will be setting up an airstrip for microlights).
Will keep posted when this happens (for those deciding to drift to these parts of the world).
Cheers.

PS. any advice on flying is always appreciated.

I am the new owner of ZU-EJU Aquilla 582 , previously owned by Fanie Deysel of Microland. The new owner do not take any resposibility for the previous owners mishaps , mayhem etc with this aircraft .........a letter has been sent to farmers and land owners in the Microland area to stop shooting and throwing all kindsa stuff at the aircraft.......
thank's again.

Hi Slabfish,

Very, very nice aerie. Congrats - glad your paper work is now sorted. Enjoy!

At this stage I'm also dreaming of one day being able to fly in that speed envelope.

Curious about microlighting

Postby Apollo » Thu Aug 23, 2007 5:00 pm

Hi all
I'm curious about the hype and buzz there seems to be around microlighting and wonder if this is for me.
I thought I'd hang around here for a while and learn a bit more.
So I'll be taking it slowly zzzz and will listen more than I speak.

Hi Andre,
reading about the C150 ZS-UYS brought back many fond memories. I did my first solo with that aircraft on the 25th June 1977, 2 days after I turned 17.
The aircraft belonged to Gus Uys in Windhoek, owner of the Gus Uys flying school. The school had 2 C-150's, ZS-GUS and ZS-UYS. Those days UYS was red, and GUS yellow.

Next time you fly UYS, give it a pat onto its cowling, and send my regards. It might even remember me. Spend many hours in it.

Regards,
Arnulf

Howzit Arnuff
Nice to hear you also had fun in UYS. Spend many a hour in him and my friend used him to get his CPL. He is now white with blue Cessna decals on the side (see avcom under aircraft for sale for pic's). Have just sold it to upgrade to a 172
Lovely little aerie

I fly an Aerotrike Spirit II (Safari) 503 ZU-BBU out of Grahamstown. We have a very strong local trike gaggle, and most of us belong to the PE club as well - sharing functions and fly-ins. The Eastern Cape skys are relatively uncrowded, and we can access some premier flying scenery, like the wild coast and Baviaanskloof.
