Another day at Rhinopark
Cool Hennie - Looks like fun
We need more stories like these, great seeing photo's of scenery I don't see everyday
What happened to thread, "What did you fly this week"?
Anyhow, SR to Rhino is babystuff - With a Mizer you should be aiming a little further - Like FAAP (Aviators Paradise)
:D
Hope to see you soon

Hi Henni
Thanks for sharing your pictures with us.
One question, the picture titled "My First Love" ... does that refer to your aerrie or your softness??
Ok, dont answer that!

Funny story:
Started talking to another pilot at Rhino Park on Sunday - talked english as always. Halfway through the conversation, he asked me what I'm flying. When I pointed to the Mizer, he immediate started speaking in Afrikaans & told me: only afrikaans people fly Mizers.
Now, whether that was a insult or a compliment, I don't know - but he was spot on and we continued the rest of the conversation in Afrikaans. (maybe I should paint it shaki
& apply for ZS-AWB?!!!)
Makes you think, doesn't it? Whilst I'm at it, on Saturday someone pulled his Skyfox out of the hangar and used a big paint brush to brush the dust off - no flying, just dusting. I aked him why he doesn't rather go fly it off.
Agent, you were right informing me that the Skyfoxes are collecting dust over there - I wonder why? They are so nice to fly...
Anyway, I hope I can find hangarage soon over there - I am growing fond of Rhino Park & it's people. I would love to be part of that crowd!

Hi Big D,
Sunday's trip was all about family entertainment whilst also flying at the same time - not intended as a cross country flight at all. I will most definitely visit you in the very near future - I am really itching to go places in the Mizer and it seems that she is just as ready to take me there.
Maybe I can make an arrangement with my first love to be away from her flying somewhere on a Saturday morning & then round it off with proper family fun (including flying of course!) on Sundays.
Regards,
Henni

Hi Henni
Nice meeting you on Saturday at Rhino. Hope you get hangerage there. Big Mac - with the Thunderbird - also struggles to get dis softness in the air. Two things you have in common: love for flying, and the softness not wanna fly.
Hope to also fly from there very soon - then we visit A.P.
P.S. Nice story and pics.

Hi everyone,
Thank you for all the replies.
Big Mac, one nice looking TBird that you've purchased - al the best and may you have many, many safe & happy flying hours with her. (Boy, those aircraft are made professionally, right down to the smallest detail.) By the way, my softness has been up with me on some occasions, but she cannot understand what all the exitement for me is all about - she says it feels just the same as driving to the cafe in the car...You cannot reason with such an argument. You either love flying or you don't. This is not something that can be understood or even explained!
Dish, sorry I missed you. My flying activities NEVER starts so late in the day, but softness may just have changed all of that.
Ldel, nice meeting you & talking to you - one very, very impressive machine that you own & fly. One day, when I'm all grown up...maybe. Lookout Big D, I might just bring some okes with when we come gate crashing your place
Agent, someone on this forumn is urgently looking for a Skyfox - won't you please help him? At least one of them over at Rhino might see some flying action then. - Wish someone would rather take his unused one home so that I can have his hangar. I'll be Rhino's PR man, I'm so impressed with the place & the people.

Hi everyone,
Went to Rhinopark again on Sunday & once again the wind was really blowing. Also visited Bronkhorstspruit dam, hence this photo update.
Please note: I had to delete the prvious pics as I've reached my size limit for this forumn - but everyone viewed them already, so no real loss.
Mizer handles the wind in stride. This time, except for a Samba doing a very short flight & a Jabiru 4 leaving for Vereeninging, the Mizer was the only aircraft flying during the day at Rhino.
Me, my first love & our youngest just before leaving for Rhinopark. Once again only started flying after 10h30 due to family going along - seems like this is going to be my future: no more windless early morning flights only.

Ready to go. Notice the windsock - stayed like this throughout the day.
Note the "voetpaadjies" created by the squatters. Mostly everytime I use the runway, I have to wait for them to clear first. Makes it difficult when you have to attempt crosswind landings & you do not want to go around. They do not even run when they notice a microlight approaching. So sad.
