MPL and PPL

Can do same at moment (fly 3 axis on PPL), but not trikes as it a different Class/Category (Weight Shift)?

On 3 axis aeries regardless of the plane, if the conversion issuing instructor is PPL instructor you fly it on PPL, if the issuing instructor is MPL instructor you have to fly on MPL.

A quartet of related questions for the fundies please:

What is the part 61 - is there a link or can someone detail the salient points?

When is it due to come into effect?

Can I pick up my MPL en-route to the 40- hrs required for the PPL (my interest is 3-Axis)?

I'm thinking of doing my PPL at Lanseria on a 2 seater Jabu UL – they’re offering PPL training on this at just under R 600 per hour, which seems fair; any comments?

Thats sad to hear,it would have been great to be able to simply convert from PPL to MPL...but i would love to convert onto a flexiwing wing trike.But i guess the reasons for it has already been mentioned,by the time i finish my PPL,it will probably be in place,if not,well then i still have a chance :D But I will try nto give up hope on it.Thank you so much guys for all the info Have a enjoyable weekend!

understand from the guys at CAA (as much as that is possible) MPL (recreation license) will need to be done from scratch for all types (Weight shirt, Gyro, 3 axis etc).

Howzit RV- At the moment I fly micos on my PPL- trike and fixed wing-
When the reules change will I have to get a seperate MPL licence ??

I fly micos so seldom it wont really matter but its nice to know I can when I want like when Demon let me fly his plane

The different licenses for the different categories planes that are endorsed in your logbook will stay the same. Therefore if you have PPL and did type convex to Bushbaby for example (which is Z010, MPL), then you will be able to continue flying this plane as a MPL.
