Trike Video - Cortez, Colorado

Postby tdrtw » Thu May 31, 2007 5:19 am

Rick, his wife Denise, John and myself headed up to Cortez, Colorado
back in March to meet up with Jerry and the Trike Flying gang based up
there.

They were an amazingly hospitable bunch of people, and we cannot thank
them enough for throwing out the red carpet for us!

Damien

I passed through Cortez a few weeks ago. I was in USA on business and had 3 days to kill. So a mate and I rented a car and drove from Denver to Phoenix. Spent nights in Colorado Springs and Durango. Had some heavy snow at pass coming into Pagossa Springs (from north) and near Del Norte.
It was stunnign scenery and I would have loved to have flown it as well. I was looking for microlight clubs, but I am obviously using the wrong search engine. I am back in USA (Vegas area) in Oct and would love to do some flying. Any suggestions?

thanks

Andre

Damien,

I downloaded the video yesterday (broadband at the office :D ) - what stunning scenery.. real cowboys & indians territory. Didn't realise it was that cold till you filmed the ice in those lakes.

Awesome man..

Very nice Damien - Creedence CR in background works well on the video :D , awesome scenery too

Noticed Olivier Aubert signed your visitor's book, bet the two of you have alot to share when it comes to flying trikes and filming.

Keep em coming

Andre - Hello, and what great country you drove through to get from Denver to Phoenix.

Dieselfan - I agree about the "date eating".... but then my mum is visiting and I showed here Andre's mug shot, she thinks Andre is handsome for a pilot...

Andre, Try these 2 lists, someone on there will know about flying clubs in Las Vegas (or anywhere in america for that matter), I do not know of any off the top of my head:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/trikeflyers_socialbar
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/UltralightTrikes/

Ace - it was below freezing on take off, but then it got warm very quickly. I think we had mid to high 20's (celcius) during the day. The lakes would be all water within a few days of that trip.

Big D - I remember an old girlfriend used to call me that, but thats another story.... I tried to pick music that I heard the fellas in Cortez were playing on their radios. Olivier is a really nice chap, and always leaves encouring words via email/messages. My hat goes off to a real adventurer such as himself.

Cheers,

Damien

Thanks for the links Damien.
I like your mother already. It is about time someone realises there is some talent in the group of guys I fly with. I always said "I'm not just a pretty face"
hehehehehe

PS - have a look at the Rhino Park link to see the group I fly with. Ugly lot (ladies excluded of course)...and Marius is missing.
