Belgian Microlight Flyer
Newbie
Hi there Everyone,
This is my virgin post. I'm not yet a pilot and neither do I have any form of wings.
I will get there and hopefully it will not take me that long, I've been flying in a Piper Cherokee with my father since before I can remember.
I intend to be based at FASH (Stellenbosch) once I get everything I need. Becuase I'm used to flying with a cockpit, I imagine that i'll be going for something along the lines of a Cheetah or a Jora. The idea of a motorised hang-glider makes me a little nervous.
Can anyone point me in the right direction to get started? And also what sort of spending I'm likely to be doing once I actaully get started?

If God had intended for man to fly, he would have given us more money.

Re: Newbie
I believe that Fisantekraal is also doing training on a Jabiru. All the schools have thier pros and cons. The instructors are all human beings so it is important to find the school and instructor that suits you. All of these schools have trained people on this forum. Some forum members have tried more than one of then schools. Some people on the forum will be more than happy to share thier experiences with you althugh maybe not on the open forum. You should also ask the schools for contact details of past students.Morph wrote:Bushbay training at Fisantekraal, Jabiru at Delta 200 and Ravin/bushbaby at Saldanha
