Leaking Fuel drums

Yes, the cabriolet is a convertible but with 8 x 25 L drums, you have to have the top up to make enough space in the boot. 8 x 25L drums fit so snugly there, you needn't tie them down....

You're flying far or you have one thirsty motor :D

I have been using round 25lt chemical plastic drums, just check the "O" ring and squeeze the drum a bit before tightening the cap as previously mentioned.

My Jabbie in fact sips avgas at 11 Litres per hour!! Since it is my newly acquired toy, I'm flying it quite a bit (kid-in-a-candystore-syndrome!!) till I settle down to some sort of flying pattern. I fly on average 15hrs/month so 200L (8 x 25L drums) last me a bit over a month.I get avgas at a specific source so time it carefully and really fill-her-up!Jabbie takes 65Litres,safe for 5 hours endurance.....

Although this topic is now going off on a tangent, I may as well add my 2c worth before the moderator steps in....
I find a much better alternative to a 'jiggle pipe.'Cut a 60mm round piece of 10mm rubber,pass through a 1m plastic pipe of about 20mm and another thinner pipe of say 5mm x 300mm.Slide the rubber 1/2 way onto the 1m pipe,insert one end into drum and seal with your hand,then blow into the thin pipe for 2 seconds and release,wow!!Look at that flow!!Jiggle pipe has a marble restrictor so my method is straight 20mm pipe.Drains 25L drum in under 40sec!!Go figure!No fuss,no mess and no fuel in mouth!!

Yup, Steel ones are a bit more expensive but worth it 100 times over.

I use a white plasatic 25L Fuel drum which i got from a BUDDY about 8 years ago and this is still working fine. It sometimes swells like a baloon when empty but have Never had a leak or Petrol smell in the car (also drive a Golf 2.0L). Will attatch a pic later today.
