 This is a great idea Dreamer

......... :!: been thinking, how about advertising more widely and combining it with an open day ........ remember the marketing

Gonna be microlights - and pilots  - of all shapes and sizes for everyone to admire.

.... and we need space - I think the numbers are going to surprise us. :D

Some useless info - the guestimate for the Gauteng biker toyrun ended in Germiston was over 19 000 bikes. They collected in excess of 40 000 toys. :D

Come on, it would be good fun so let's make this a really big Microlighters toy drive :) :D
 dm: Demonic One, whaddayasay we arrange this as an annual national event to take place simultaneously in all the different regions at a Sat brekkie closest to our Microlighters forum birthday in May :?:
Would be a GR8 way to celebrate :!:

Just a suggestion

Why not do the toy thing at Christmas time and do a Easter Egg thing now as we come up towards Easter - will also make it easy on logistics as all ages are the same -
maybee Trixie can dress up as a Bunny and fly in with eggs :P

Ja-a-a-a-a Thunder... ear, ear :!: nothing short of an eggcellent  Would be eggstremely good fun, let's eggspedite this as eggspediently as pos, of wat se egg nou :) before everyone disappears off the scene to their respeggtive Easter rabbit warrens
We'll need the most deleggtable choccie or marshmallow eggs, get 'em there by eggspress planes flown by eggspert pilots who will eggsecute the deliveries pronto :D Let's try to eggsceed even our most eggsaggerated eggspectations.
We'll all feel so eggstatic  we'd want to put all our eggs into our eggsquisite baskets, egg se  Once we've all hopped on board, we'd be so eggsultant that we'll all overlook our eggstraordinary madness and be justifiably hoppy about being such very clever bunnies... hehe :) :D
Let's eggshort all the other regions to join in and make this a really eggciting Easter :) :D

Okay here's my 2c worth suggestion - every region around the country does the following:
Choose a Sat morning before Easter.
We find out which airfields to the north, south, east and west want to join in the fun, and they each prepare a little brekkie for the pilots and a bunch of kids from a nearby children's home in their area, and they invite the teachers/house mothers to bring the kids along to the airfield for the fly-in.
Participating pilots fly in to whichever airfield (singular or plural) they choose and can even make it a round trip from start to finish.
Then... surely there are enough moms & dads amongst the forum members to recruit a willing kiddlywink who'll be game enough to dress up, fly in as pax if pos, and play the role of the Easter Bunny dishing out the eggs to the kids at the brekkies :D
Oh ja  & then in late May we do a Beanie & Scarf run... & before Xmas we do the Toy Run as originally suggested by Dreamer...
 & then we roll out all 3 events on an annual basis...
Whaddayasay, cool huh :?:

Here's another angle,

Saw a hysterical golf griving range where the pick-up okes wore bike helmets as they ducked around the golf balls.

Get Standard bank or Kaiser Chiefs / Blue Bulls to sponsor the hardhats, dish them out, trikes fly over and have a mallow egg bomb competition.

Lets break down the white rabbit tradition and we'll introduce black demonic ones and viscious pax trying to bomb the brats.

Swartkop is a nightmare to go in there- you have to have prior written permission and the controllers there get a bit flussterd when they have to deal with a lot of civvy planes- Went in once on a museum day and was in the hold for over 20 min- next time same thing happend but afterhalf an hour of circles out side the cdircut with 20 other planes I gave up and went back to home base

Me likes the idea of all of ya , I think Rhino is the place to be -
Its open , far from the mad crowds - we can even arrange a quad ride for some of the passangers / folks - , but thats not all yet - Have any of ya yet had a lepra- Burger -??? not yet I guess !!
wanna try one lets make it at Rhino and we will check some of the fat cattle at the Feedlot, turn em into burgers , get some milk , make butter and cheese and whala - you get a Lepra- Burger - tell me when and its arranged - cofee on the take we have a huge urn , plenty coffee , rusks etc - as far as I am concerned were in - Rhino it must be - Leprachaun
Will arrange an ATC as well

Do we get the milk and cheese before or after turning the cow into burger patties? Why not kill two cows with one - whatever you killem with.
