WOW what a nice route it is going to be.
Please keep a log on here with pic's of all the places and faces along the way so we can have a look.

It would be nice if you could take a pic on finals every where you land and show the rest of us what we are missing.

Hi John

Your trip out this way is not going to be like the beverage name sake - COOL & DRY... more than likely it's to be HOT & BUMPY! You are most welcome to land at FAPT, fuel up, stretch legs and have a coolie...

Runaways at FAPT are 06/24 12/30 01/29
Field elevation 4300ft.

See you guys weather permitting!

Hi all

John and Wouter popped in at Postmasburg, stretched their legs, had a coolie and took off to Upington via Witsand (Brulsand). Before leaving our airspace, John showed what the Savannag can do with its STOL capabilities and all present was really impressed! Conditions were very windy but the aircraft proved to be up to it. :o

I'll post 1 or 2 photo's shortly....

Thank you for the display John.... :D

All I can say is, I have never seen a plane take off this fast in my life. I estimate they were off the ground in 20 meters and climbing. Amazing  8)

It was nice to meet John and to see this well built excellent value for money plane. But it is not for the large of build. Ask Boet   A nice tight fit for those of us of regular to shorter heights, i.e. me

I believe there is a new speed wing available for it as well

Additionally we had another beautiful airborne visitor to Morning Star as well, quietly sitting in the grass on it's kill. A Steppe Buzzard I believe

Magnificent bird. I was less than 10 meters away from it when I took this shot.

Unfortunately I could not meet John at Loeriesfontein. My Mother took seriously sick, and I had to rush to Cape Town with her. She is still not well. At least I could then meet with John and his Savannah at Stellenbosch. Mmm.... Nice aerietjie. I CAN get in, with a couple of grunts and farts, BUT I will then not be able to move the stick. Awesome machine really. John gave a very nice and safe little display at Stellies,! only to be called on the red mat afterwards. Something to do with "noise". It was a LOT quieter than the Harvard that took off just before him...
