Postby CloudDancer » Fri Feb 16, 2007 9:39 pm

Just want to know which brand of unleaded mogas you guys favour / use?

I know they are supposed to be all virtually the same, but...........maybe someone has some good/bad results about a certain brand to share.

In no way intended to gun any brand.

I couldn't be bothered. I stop at the first available gas station on the way to the airfield....makes no difference as far as I'm concerned.
Airspeed, altitude, or brains....you always need at least two

I disagee. I only use FRESH  petrol and I figure if a garage doesnt advertise accordingly it`s not fresh and therefore ($$) ($$)($$)($$)($$)($$)($$)($$)

Hey if it burns it`s the right one for me :!:

Its all the same... but fresh stuff is good;) I go to the busiest petrol station in the area. And after pulling up to the petrol pump in a diesel and the initial waving of arms this causes, fill up with unleaded.

Any brand of green unleaded.

Green cause it is easier to see in the tank in flight in low ambient light.

Obviously you don't have to pre-mix...

Mine ends up a deep blue. And tried to verify check the level in my tank by looking back... almost twisted my head off and dislocated my shoulder and still none the wiser!!

Also any brand of 95 unleaded for the 912S. Went on long flight of 5 hrs yesterday. Two up, full tanks, me and pax 210kg plus 90 litres of fuel, used 16l/hr @ avg 90 mph. Had to refuel in Worcester with 30 l left and added 20l of Avgas to my 95 unleaded - did't notice a thing (a lighter shade of green though). Rotax quite ok with Avgas as well  in the absence of Mogas of coarse.
