Hey all, was reading the thread on a windlass club...mind went.....club ,biker gang, triker gang, rallies....... .hey how about a microlight toy run :?: ..or something similar, we find a suitable charity, arrange a fly-inn, maybe with flips etc and all bring a toy or something to donate......perhaps the ......" Annual "AFskies" charity trike/microlight run"..........

I am in. :D

Trix - The annual Afskies charity Toy run - Dreamer has a good idea. We don't limit it to any kind of airy. Trikes, 3 axis, Gyro's.

Let's do some good and show we are not just a bunch of petrol and 2 stroke smelling "hardebaarde"

We are in as long as the runway is long enough for my C170

Ditto with RV4...

Now for some suggestions from you guys - do we make it a run around the regional cabbage patches so that everyone can join in the fun or what :?:

That sounds like a good idea to me. The more people participating the better and we could grow it in size over years especially if it is to become the Annual Afskies Charity Run

Everyone in a region flies in to a airfield to be decided on with a toy AND SOME FOOD. The local Pilots of the airfield together with Afskies decide on the charity(s) to support and then drop off all the Food and Toys after the event. If we can get the people from the charity's at the airfield's so much the better

I have been invloved with something like this before and it is important that everyone not bring teddy bears as orphan's differ in age and boys and girls of different ages prefer different toys. (Dolls, cars, play airies, CD's, skateboard). Perhaps and I use this only as an example for Gauteng

Rietfontein - Boys 12 -18
Microland - Boys 3 - 12
Petit - Girls 3 - 12
Rhino - Boys 12 - 18
etc.

DH and I both have access to Bakkies as I am sure many of us do to help with delivery in Gauteng. Guys in other provinces I am sure wil also have access to delivery vehicles or even normal cars would be fine.

Man this could be great!!

Lets get the ball rolling, will be alot of planning and logistics but will be fantastic if we get enough interest.

I think a fantastic initiative, I will support even if I have to drive in. (still on school plane). Only one request  Someone ensure DH's toy is secure before take off
