Share information besides air pictures.

Postby tthierry » Mon Jan 22, 2007 12:43 pm

Hi,

I've created a gallery focused on air pictures. Every pilot can use it to share his or her pictures with people who can only dream of flying.

The gallery is completely free and will remain so in the future. The pictures remain the SOLE property of their photographers. A feature enables to protect them against illegal copying. (More info in the gallery.)

A direct link to each picture can be used in forums or newsgroups where posting images is impossible. (It seems there is no need of this feature here any longer....)

Try this one for exemple : http://www.airpictures.net/scripts/aff_pict.php?id=55

There are already 150 pics from the 5 continents, although the gallery was created a month ago.

Feel free to visit it and if you like this idea, add pictures.

Welcome and an excellent idea and maybe a catalyst to build relationships to fly in different countries. The pictures can act as a portfolio of flying conditions.

Eg. You see an area that looks great to fly and arrange with pilots to reciprocate flying opportunities.

Thanks for your comments.
Actually, going in differents countries is also one of the reason we fly. To help pilots wanting to come and fly in mine I created 4 years ago a site http://flyinfrance.free.fr
I'm not sure it will be of much use to you "down there", since France is a bit far from you, but indeed, I'm keen on exchanges between pilots.
If some of you want to come and fly in France and I can help with information or advices, contact me. There are indeed many places worth visiting from the sky. (several hints in the flyinfrance site).
I'm sure there are also plenty of them in your country, and I'm expecting to discover them soon in the airpictures gallery.

Where is the meteor? :?
If you don't live on the edge, you take up to much space.

I guess the meteor is under the ground

 Another topic:
Does anyone among you have a list of South African landing places for planes and microlights, with geographical coordinates and altitude?

If you think it worthwhile, I could with such a list add South Africa in a database I have, where pilots feed informations about their own airfield for others to benefit from it whereas theybenefit from info provided by other pilots. (I'm still on the sharing part of this thread.)
I have included several european countries yet, and the site is quite successful. It is completely free, so that you can try it and, if you'd like to use it for your own country, tell it to me here or by mail.

Thanks for the link. Indeed, this could be a beginning, but I would also need the real names and altitude of the airfields.
What I am wondering is this : would it be useful to anyone if I added the SouthAfrican airfields in my database?

Try what you could have for your country : http://www.eurovfr.com
