Heilbron Airfield - anyone been there?

Postby Thunderboy » Wed Jan 24, 2007 12:05 pm

The Thunderbird Guys are planning their annual trip to Shumba Valley Farm later this year. A direct flight will take us over Heilbron where we would plan to refuel.

Easyplan mentions possible cattle & game on runway and shooting nearby and that the field and that it is no longr licensed :!:

Question :?:
Has anyone landed there and know what the conditions are like?
What are the road conditions like for ground crew driving that route to meet us?

Tar strip. Cousin landed there last week in C182RG. Cattle are a problem and inspection run to chase them off was required. There are no fences. Should not be a problem. Strip is close to town and easily acceable.
