What exactly do you mean by tike? My dictionary says something about Yorkshiremen, but picturing them topless is a bit difficult (Pale and hairy?) :D :D

Pale and Hairy topless Yorkshiremen first thing in the morning kinda (**) spoilt the coffee.

Back to the point, this wing is really nice - less clutter, how does it fly I wonder :?:

If I am not mistaken there is a South African working on a topless wing too. My instructor told me about it.

I am going through to Jenya this morning, I will ask him...

I have sen the one that Jenya has made. Imperssive stuff indeed. He is busy test flying it at the moment.
You can only tie the record for flying low.

This is interesting. Is the wing rigid, I see it only has two struts supporting it? What is it covered with, stits or Dacron?

I imagine this would be faster since there is less drag from not having all the cables and stuff

I am not an expert in these things, but some of what I know I want to share with you guys.

I think that your biggest drag issue is the undercarriage. The wing can't go faster than the undercarriage (unless you are a helicopter or gyro), so minimizing drag on your wing is probably not going to improve your performance that much.

Fairings do help to minimize drag, and we have found great improvements in fuel consumption.

Many of the safety factors of trike wings are compromised by trying to get additional speed, and designs such as the Quick are not a dime a dozen. Remember the speed squared law. The pressure and drag increases by the square of the increase in air speed, so extra forces come into play in a big way! Designers of faster craft such as the Quick knows this.

When we are talking about something which naturally has to billow to turn and handle, made of tube and rag, where safety has a lot to do with delicate changes in the surface such as washout and reflex, speed should not be too important.

I recently read a report which stated that some hang glider wings can tumble by flying too fast!! If you want to know more I will ask my skygod to elaborate, he is pretty good at that!

Fly safe!

Hello out there!! :D

At Petit Airfield somebody has re-designed the wing without a kingpost. They are already flying it, but their is still a couple of hitches they need to sort out. I know this wing can be fold-up on the trike. (-)

Since there are no landing wires it would be interesting to know where he weight is carried during landings...I guess the wing is fine if you just keep on flying and avoid the landings?
