LESSONS HARD LEARNT

Postby Hazzard » Wed Jan 10, 2007 10:46 am

Yesterday I had a beautiful aircraft that I was learning to fly. Today I have a carcass.
Last night Wayne Bond closed the hanger to planes and an arrangement to further my training this morning. Today I am going up to the hanger to discuss with the insurance assessor the status of my plane.
My message: To those that have made the decision not to ensure your planes, that is your decision and to be respected. To those that are wondering what to do; DO IT. You never know what may happen when nobody is looking. I insured my plane, but the Rand / Euro has made such a dramatic change over the past 8 months that the insured value is now 20% under value.
I am not an insurance salesman looking to increase my portfolio, I am one of your flying mates that is suggesting that all you guys just give this a lot more thought.
Cheers,

terrible news. Insurance is always a bugger, but IMHO is almost always worth it. Maybe it tight till exchange rate recovers (if?) and then replace. Most frustrating as you have to restart the buying process. My thoughts will those who have lost their babies....

So sorry. Hope everyone gets on there feet quickly.

I had a total loss (house - thatch roof, contents, washing an'all), you'd be amazed how quickly one can recover.

Time to analise that dreaded grudge purchase - insurance. I hope all parties will share all experiences with us. Most share hangars and we could all learn from this.

Anyway, I did'nt like that specific plane, it did'nt come with the blond.

Sorry about the loss - and the 20%. Hope the insurance doesn't drag their feet, and that you can get flying in your own aerie soon

I had a look at the other post and see it's dated as 8 Jan - did you only have it for 1 day?
