Yep, really, it did fly over the cuckoo's nest today :D

To clarify...I'm busy building a pool in Strubensvalley (west of JHB) My customer is totally nuts ...her dog is stone cold crazy and the nextdoor neighbours are a bunch of dingbats

At exactly 11H17 this morning it comes over at about 150' AGL going like a bat outta hell in the direction of Macro and Clearwater Centre on Hendrik Potgieter Rd. No registration marks visible underneath the wing but the wing itself is darkblue, neon green and white. The carriage is darkblue and white and the wing has white winglets on the tips....and it was going somewhere in a hurry

Just wondering who it was, 'cos the pilot was shaking the heebie-jeebies outta that bar to keep it straight! Not surprising though as it was already up to 30 deg.C at that time this morning

Hi Folks some of us are just damn stupid - had an intyerresting call from CAA and Waterkloof tower Saturday morning 09h40 - An unidentified ultralight was operating in the Elarduspark area after a quick trip from the west over Waterkloof "territory ".
A few moments later the culprit was identified doing stalls and turns overhead ElardusPark shopping mall -
I was on my way after training at Rhino to get some supplies for the school and after a friendly "uit kak " from above mentioned authorities what do I observe - A 503 Trike - Zu - AFI - having a ball - or maybe his last flight - .
CAA was informed by cell of the registration number and the Pilot will probably be invited for lemon juice Monday morning . who knows he may even redo his airlaw exam at Waterfall park - A microland based Trike nogal!!!
Henk Badenhorst - well done you have just done what CAA warned me about on Wednesday - "We will sort out the guys who break the rules " - please check your authortity to fly and see what it says about flying over built up areas??
The rest of the Microlight guys are deep in the poo after your display of superior airmanship . I hope you enjoy your stay on the ground ?

Although I don't think that we will all get “tarred and feathered” or “branded and labelled” following incidents like this. It could however make the CAA's "ears prick-up a little quicker" when the word Microlight is uttered.

Over December we had a number of Incidents where folks landed on busy beaches, low level flight in restricted zones etc. These incidents make all of our lives more difficult. Please guys, read your authority to fly and abide by it. It is not worth it being grounded or worse still having an accident where innocent bystanders are hurt or killed.

Hi Folks as Morph put it gently - dont foregt the flipping - I have had feedback from paying customers who paid for a flip along the beach in a microlight with a MPL pilot - note -not an instructor - on that note be aware of the dangers of this type of issue - The government (dept of Transport .)
, Caa and an aviation society are presently involved in a law suit for millions of pounds where a foreign citizen was killed in an accident - - Is it worth the risk - I dont think so . Think before you let one of your non instructor buddies fly a paying passenger
