I am sure that this has been tackled in the past but I just want to refresh my memory with regards to everyones opinion on executing dead-stick landings.
For me, it is a vital part of our training and prepares us if our engine ever dies (for what ever reason). I personally usually execute at least one dead-stick landing every time I have a session of "circuit training", but I do know of some who refuse to practice it.
What are your opinons?

Good rule Wart!!
Every now and again I do a simulated engine out over the airfield and try to do an accurate spot landing!!
Just some needless info....
Always remember to try and put in down on a pre-determined spot. Anybody can land a plane without power, but the thing is, you need to be able to land it exactly where you planned while say 1000ft AGL.....

Yup Smily - accuracy and direction of landing in the zone are key.. pointless otherwise.. every pilot should undergo glider training before moving on .. such a bloody pity we dont at FAFK.
Come on Wintervogel .. lets get a winch and some gliders there and we can have some REAL fun
