Postby Cloud Warrior » Tue Nov 21, 2006 1:29 am

Some photos of the Red Bull Air Race final held in Perth during last weekend - 300 000 people pitched up to watch it and we host it again in 2007 & 2008.

It would be really cool if SA could host it, but the hosting is in the region of R100m (maybe US$), and our government would need to get involved. If the spectators were vuvuzela crazy, there may be a chance.

The last one was called off due to safety reasons, and not because of the organizers. A contingency plan was carried out - maybe not a plan and some entertainment was provided. Unfortunately the event wasn't a success.

The organizers did what they could to salvage the event, and I give them my support.

When a task like this is taken on, one should be prepared for the worx and things like safety etc should have been thought of beforehand.

No excuses for poor performance. ($$)

I suppose you're right. They gave it a bash and didn't expect the weather that was thrown at them. They're gonna give it another go, and call in the experts instead of the local inexperienced crew
