Intercom noize SORTED!!!

Postby Bacchus » Tue Nov 14, 2006 11:41 pm

After many enquiries here in Cape Town and many frustrations and whining noises (engine refs ) in my ears while flying, I gave up hope. -0<
Nobody here seemed to be able to help me or did not know what I was talking about.

My intercom picked up engine noize as soon as I switced on the system to talk to a pax.
Now comes the GOOD part. "ZULU 1" of AIR MAGIC SYSTEMS seemed to understand right away. He really took interest in my problem and after a brief conversation with him he said he will sort this out, he promise me!
Well, I certainly had my doubts. He posted me a little part which I had to fit with all the intructions. Straight forward and simple. Now I am mechanically completely retarded  so lets be honest here.....my good friend and personal mechanic John (one of two) did the thing for me. Quick quick. =D*
Problem solved.....as easy as that. The best of all is that this piece of equipment is cheap too!
Spoke to him yesterday in Ballito and picked up the part this morning in Cape Town and fitted this afternoon.
Now if there is anyone with these problems, seek no further! Believe me, I went through all the motions! Ou Man, ek weet jy sit met dieselfde probleem.
Thanks Paul for good service and advice. Much appreciated! You kept your promise.
Now if this sounds like advertising, so be it! I just dont want anybody to sit with the same k@k I had!!!! Its so easy after all.

Oh yes!
And Zulu also said that this noize will from now on be known as the "Bacchus Buzz".
Just mention that to him and he will know what to do!

Bacchus Buzz

Postby ZULU1 » Thu Nov 16, 2006 9:06 pm

I am happy that Bacchus has won..

For those interested people, i attach a picture of the small power supply that "sorted" Bacchus Buzz problem. I can supply for each individual challenge with a line choke and voltage regulator to suit. LM317 (1,5 amps) LM350 (3,5 amps) and LM338 (5 amps). The line chokes are made in Durban and slightly overkill !!

They work well on all Microlight applications and are strongly advisable for the ICA5/23 series as these units do not like overvoltage. The ICA6/24 really requires it as it takes 11 volts. But highly recommended on all radio feed installations as they remove all line related noise from the planes electrical system. Also desirable to prevent destruction of expensive GPS devices with overvoltage.

I can sell kits for those diy men with interest in doing it themselves and can also help with RF beads to help prevent noise in existing ssytems.

Noise cancelling microphones also available for other intercom systems.

Our cordless PTTs will be available soon for retrofit to Buzzcom and Speakease systems within the next two-three weeks.

My radio feedback - also solved.

My Pilot radio would always -tik -tik- tik under the trikes power and as soon as I transmit, squeeled like hell in my ears and distorted the message. I could'nt take removing the radio to charge overnight and Zulu sent me a voltage regulator / filter goodie which works magic.

Also fitted his bibs to my Buzzcom helmets. Very simple, looks cool, can hear the pax clearer and no more blast -freezing the face.

Good service. Any hassles; he's the man.

Guys, I have the (privilage) of flying from the same club as Da ZULU. Trust me - if yiou have a radio, intercom problem, this is the person you want saved on speed dial. His workman ship is brilliant, he's knowledge on this stuff is better than all of us put together and he knows his product well. He's put alot of hard work, and research into it, and if he recoemnds something, I'd go with it. Nice work paul.
