Radio icom A-200

Postby Splitter » Wed Oct 25, 2006 12:09 pm

I have a icom A-200 Radio fitted to my aircraft which is exellent, as well as a ique 3600a GPS which is the best, but  when i play MP3 music from my ique through my A-200 it is so soft i can barely here anything. The ique is connected with a small earphone type plug which i wired to my icom.

Ok wise guys i did turn up the volume

Is there anyway i can improve on this? Should i maybe fit a amp? Can a amp be fitted to this system? :?:

Please help its getting lonely up there. -0<

Icom ICA 200

Postby ZULU1 » Thu Oct 26, 2006 5:40 am

Hiya

I make intercoms and headsets helmets etc. this is a common problem and is not easily fixed.

I produce our intercom systems which interface with the ICA200, Filsers, Microairs etc. as well as other commercial radios. This replaces the existing intercom in the ICA 200 and then adds music (and cellphone) seperately. The benfits are quite incredible as we have a product which we have trademarked muTunes. This automatically mutes the music when you press the PTT and when an incoming signal comes in for a preset time period which you can adjust. Most users set to about 11secs. As an extra benefit you also get a three stage noise cancelling circuitry which totally eliminates the need for a VOX system. They work particularly well on small homebuilds with a high noise environment. Fitted one to a Vagabond last week, the owner gave up on expensive headsets. After fitting he has become so stoked he has written an article to fellow sufferers.

Hope this will help.

It sounds good. My A-200 is fitted in a Cheetah. I'm based in Centurion so will have to do the installation myself. If you think youre system can do it, pm or e-mail me with pricing and specs and how to do it and we can take it from there.

Hello splitter
I've just installed a new intercom in my aerie and am throwing my expensive system out.
the new set is the locally made one of Zulu1, Airmagic.
i've found them well priced, designed for open flying with active noise reduction and they work brilliantly. they're also VOX free and with music input , it's now an absolute pleasure flying.
cheers bill

Intercoms for ICA200

Postby ZULU1 » Sat Dec 16, 2006 3:11 pm

Wayne Bond at Cato Ridge Aero tech has just installed our system into a Savage with a ICA200, music muting and noise cancelling etc.

Contact him on 0823220822 and he should be able to fit for you.

You need something like this

http://www.ps-engineering.com/pm1000.shtml

It has separate squelch/volume controls as well as the priority controlled audio mixer for music etc..

Bought mine from Century Avionics at Lanseria
