Bushbaby racing with Jets, Goosewalking at Altona and PPL

Postby Junkie » Mon Oct 23, 2006 12:10 pm

What can i say - mixing it up with the elite and a gentle (Thankfully) reminder of my own falability - so how does 1 person have so much fun and experience so many things in just one ol weekend - well leave it up to the Junkman and its bound to happen

Yes its true believe it or not - a BUSHBABY/912s/taildragger is almost faster than an Albatross Jet (ex FASH) - an I proved it at FAFK this weekend, plus have witnesses to prove it, darned pity no one had a camera on the ground
We were meant to formate and do a low level flypast, and having of course done everything by the book, let her rip on a nice steady descent on final @ 100+mph and the dude .. but he just managed to catch up and overtake when I was climbing out .... (ok he was a bit wide on baseleg :P :P - wow that was cool 8)

Not so cool was my little dance with the Canola at Altona (Poet n' i dirnt even noes it) - coming in a little close behind Klass, no wind, and just after settling on the ground - WHAM it was like I was riding the Cobra at Disneyworld. Anyway thankfully just hung on the wing and let her go into the long grass on the side which dissapated the energy and got it back to some semblance of normallity..... no one is immune.. specially the Junkman (and this is the very same spot i rolled her on my very first flip) go figure  :?

Started my PPL and instructor upgrade course on Sunday (in preparation for SP) - very interesting and scary at the same time what one learns about oneself, even after almost 4 years part time instructing - this is worth doing (and maybe ill also learn to fly proper like too ..) 8)
