Urgent Service Bulletin - Windlass Owners

Service Bulletin – 13 October 2006

Attention Windlass owners:
NB This applies to the Windlass with the Streak Wings only.

For those who don’t know the difference with the Streak wing to the regular wings is that the keel is inside the under surface forward of the hang point.
A point of inspection which we has been overlooked in some wings has been brought to our attention. It is on the top of the keel tube where the spreader bar rests on it. To inspect this you have to open the under surface velcro and look inside. What has happened is the spreader bar hinge bolt has been inserted downwards and has eventually worn through the padding material and started wearing into the keel tube.

The solution is to ~
1. Change the bolt around so that it points upwards
2. Insert more padding material
3. Attach on the keel tube some extra reinforcing

If you contact us at the factory we will send you some reinforcing plate that can be easily attached to the keel tube.

This area is double sleeved so it will not fail if a hole has been worn through. It still must be attended to.
