Contact Wayne Bond at Cato Aerotech (ZERO 8 TWO 3 TWO TWO ZERO 8 2 2). They have a number planes in both MPL and PPL in the R500k area. All very nice and locally supported.

Emil
Are you secifically looking for Rattex power? What are the applications? Assume with speed requirement they are xcountry machines.

PS
I sound like a gramaphone, but for the moolah you talking R500-Bar, the RV's are definite candidates... 200mph with a stall <55mph. Only problem I can see is they are not plastic, the fact that need PPL to fly them and Lycoming is thirstier than Rattex? Maybe a RV9 or RV9A with 0320. It will be more economical than the O360's and will still do 170mph. The new sport plane RV12 will be Rattex 912 powered, but a 914 in a light RV9A will perform very well. There are a couple RV's with the 108hp 0290 in USA, much like the original prototype. Engines grew as the greed for speed did...

Hi RV

yes it is x country machines....and yes feul burn is the problem not the PPL fact that is why i need a machine with a ratax in... the RV would have worked great but getting a few quick and with ratax machines in is a prob.. this thing we are wroking on is not definate yet but we are looking at 3 planes.. with Ratax machines and they must be fast...the only one that does come to mind is the sting

What do you fly at the moment, Emil?

Have you personally flown any of your choices, cos if you are going to spend almost R2mil on aircraft, then this would definitely be a good place to start.

emil, the Rally SP 105 flies along nicely at 120mph with the 912s.

Check out their website http://www.catoaerotech.co.za

They are based at Cato Airfield and also have other aircraft available but not powered by Ratex.

WT9 also seems like a winner. Think agency and demo model based at FAVG

The Sabre another... (Think richard Stubbs is agent)

Also check Dave Gros at www.dreamwings.co.za
