Wish I was on my way home! Now in Singapore and just been looking at video cameras; anyone got any preferences or suggestions for me?

The wx is great; not too hot and a good breeze blowing. Going off to Sentosa Island to see what has changed in the last 5 years (I was last here as a stop-over on my honey-moon).

Tomorrow we are off to KL.

Hey Wart

Busy looking at getting web-cam aswell... basically found out there are a few criteria: get a 3CCD (that is there is a video sensor for each primary colour and video quality is superb). Second get one with AV in (analog video in) because at some stage you might want to attach a lipstick cam to the wing tip... and you need the av in for that. MiniDV is still the best recoding format... DVDs are only up to 20minutes of video per disc...

And get a Canon... apparently best make overall for video cameras.

 Anyway my quick guide to video cameras

Bought the new 30Gig HDD by JVC with SD Ram for still photos. Busy charging the batteries so I can "play" tomorrow.

Sentosa was a real disappointment. Since my last visit it really seems to have gone down-hill. The 4-D movie was weak and the Cinematic Experience even worse.

The world famous Pepper Crab and Drunken Prawns were awesome, washed down with a few Tiger beers overlooking the sea.

Well I am now in KL with a view of the Petronas Towers from the 23rd floor of this hotel (where my room is). Real value for money! 5 Star hotel in down-twon KL for only USD80 per night; you can't get this anywhere else.

Tomorrow is another hectic day and in the evening we are heading down to Jakarta. At least this will be a break in that we are staying there until Friday and then back to South Africa.

Demon, I am sure that I am missing out on some great flying wx; I will just have to make up for it when I get back.

Sitting in the Royal Sonesta Hotel in Boston. Flew to NY last Friday night. What a tiring flight. First visit to the US. Here with my MBA class to finish off the international leg of the course. Visited Harvard Business School this morning and going to a Red Sox game tomorrow night. Had more than a few beers in "Cheers" last night. I say that in inverted commas as it is merely a copy of the TV series bar and not the original Cheers. Beer still good though, Sam Adams Ale, yummy! Will post some amazing pics from the top of the Empire State on my return to the US. Safe flying all.

Back in the butt hole of africa...

But with a smile:) Managed to finish my MPL before I left... cramming the exams in on the last day... now just waiting for the paper work to go through:) Just to late to take up DNP as PIC though... so I just spent some time running up the engine, sitting in her imagining flying... sigh.

So back with regular internet access and a nothing else but the forum to quench my thirst for flight...

SPEECH!! Ok... if you insist...

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone on this forum for firstly exposure to the enthusiasm that microlighters have. Using this site, I found a school, invaluable information (half of which my instructor had to beat out of me), found ZU-DNP and importantly made a couple of friends and got drunk once... "

Thanks guys, I hope we all realise that this site has the potential to go a long way for our sport.

P.S> This months Popular mechanics has an article on the aerotrekkers and thier "kite wings" ^?^ horrible name for a trike!!!
