This looks really cool! A new runway (07/25 and 1,500m - estimated) under construction at Kokoriba, at almost right angles to the existing runway (14/32).
It looks as if you could do a few touch-and-goes along the length of it.
If you are unsure where Kokoriba is, it is NE of Roodekoppies Dam, and NNW of Brits, in the North West Province.
I have included the Google Earth .kmz file for your convenience.

Re: New Runway at Kokoriba
Morning John,
Also saw the new runway the other day, but I've been told it is not a Kokoriba runway, it is on an adjacent property and a different owner.
Not sure how safe this is going to be! Imagine taking of Kokoriba 14, and this farmer comes trundling down 07. With the contour of the land, neither aircraft will be able to communicate with the other whilst still on the ground.

Yes, I flew over it again last week and you certainly have to be very alert for the two opposing circuits, both of which could potentially be active. Depending on the wind direction, any combination of the two runways could be in use.
Personally, I feel that to have two runways for different lodges intersecting like this is nothing short of madness.

Re: New Runway at Kokoriba
The area to the east of Kokoriba if I am not mistaken is where the farmer is that does not like planes flying over his buffalo? This new runway will take the planes straight over his place either on take-off or loe on finals. I see some more problems for this farmer

Re: New Runway at Kokoriba
Well I know bugger all about grumpy buffalo boere or any existing complaints....but having landed there this weekend I can tell you its an awesome strip, well maintained (as gravel strips go) and moer long for a triker!
Even the Jabbanaught will handle this strip with ease Piet!
The two are not "inter accessible" however and there is a 6ft high Timber fence that seperates them which runs accros the runway near the 34 Threshold. So don't land too short northwards or your aerie may become a permanent feature...
Not too many "dubbeltjies" around to puncture your flying plans so all in all a bush strip from heaven for us.
Due diligence and a watchful lookout on joining or takeoff will avoid any accidents as there is not much traffic at either strip...
My only wish (and this is not unique to Kokoriba) is that there would be more shade on the aprons to save our Dacron from Global warming.
Our poor samoosas really start melting in the bushveld heat...
