Well, THATS NOT ME :D :D

Hey, this is a plane, it is meant to fly, no be towed ! That is almost as bad as taking your bike on a trailer to a rally, then parading it around the patch there, loading it on the trailer again to tow it back home, and then calling yourself a biker :D

Yes, I could do that, but where is the sense of adventure in that ? Anyway, no rush, I am flying every weekend at the moment.......

It is this "stubborness" that has caused me to build two aircraft, sail a yacht round the world and a few other crazy things, works for me

Happy Flying,
Rudi

Hi Dude !

Go for it ! I agree, if there is no other safe way yes, but the plane is more than capable so why not ? There is no real rush.

Thanks for the ride Saturday, it was awsome ! I have never felt acceleration like that

Are we going to look at that plane on Wednesday ?

Hi Emil – not our Rudi. For him it’s just one way, no highway.

“Gotta” give him 5 stars for persistence. !!!!

Gee Rudi - you're one up on me - I have only got 20,000 NM [mostly solo] on a yacht. You been to Chagos?

3.5 hours, but NOT through 8/8 clouds or 70+ km/h wind over the Berg....

If the current front moves according to predictions Sunday should be the day, we will see.

Flew a Cheetha yesterday, a great plane but a bit slower than the Streak  Still negotiating the price, lets see, at least this one is semi local :D It might even be in the hanger before the Streak.

Hi John !

Yes, it is looking good, lets hope the weather people get it right

We are aiming at Sunday, Saturday was also an option but the weather does not look as good, Sunday is also a better option as far as flights (commercial) goes to Oribi and back.

Hope to see you !
Safe flying,
Rudi

Hi again John, THANKS ! looks like I have missed a few posts, hectic week !

Yes, I have been to Chagos, actually got stuck on a reef there for a while  I was VERY glad to be in a steel yacht :D

Hmmm, the acceleration thing...... Take one race tuned GT3, one heavy right foot, and an open racetrack  The rest is easy :D My lap times are getting better every time, one of these days I can play with the big boys.

BTW, you should have seen Tanya behind the wheel ! Won't be long before she will be giving me a run for my money, can't wait for the next endurance race, we will be a great team.....

Happy flying,
Rudi

At last ! On the fourth weekend everything worked out ! No, it was not perfect, only managed to leave quite late, just after 10 AM and had quite a bit of headwind but it is done.

Ended up making only one quick stop for a leg stretch at Harrismith, the headwind did not help but the total flight time was 3.6 hours, the engine burnt about 45L (Out of 65L) at 2700rpm for a AS of abt 95mph, this included the long climb over the "Berg", not too shabby !

So, tonight she finally sleeps in her new home !

I am glad I did not trailer the plane, like I said before, she is build to fly ! I now know what she is capable of, a bit of wind and turbulance is no problem !! She is quite capable of doing long distance cruising and that is what she is going to do.

Thanks for all the advice and support everyone, I am planning to make the trip again in that direction towards the end of the year, this time visiting all the way !

Safe and happy flying,
Regards,
Rudi

Great plane ! Sat in it today, what a view from the front seat ! Hope to get a flight in it soon

You must hear the engine purr, after flying behind a 2-stroke I have just decided I want a 4-stroke !

Congratulations Rudi ! Here's to your new venture as well !!

Pic's will come, have not had time to "process" them for the web, the main priority was to get her here ! So, you see, you can fly a microlight that far in less than perfect conditions  No need to trailer !

BTW, A1 not F1............ F1 only next year !

Have also started a new project, at least this baby is a lot closer
