At last I am back in SA! After a delay of 2 hours "due to technical reasons" (don't you just love hearing that?), we arrived at JIA late so I missed my connection to Durban. I am so glad to be home and lookin at the wx I might even get to fly tomorrow!

Forgot to let you all know that I am out of the country again!

At the moment I have just checked into the hotel in Dubai and will be here for 3 days, then up to Abu Dhabi for a day and then on to Doha (Qatar) for a day and then the big trek back home.

To make matters worse, I get back on 25th August and leave again on the 29th August for India, KL, Singapore and Jakarta getting back to RSA on 9th September. I wonder if my daughter will remember who I am???

Well whilst most of you were either flying or at least at the airfield I was working. That is right, working on a Sunday!!! In 42 C heat nogal!!

This place amazes me every time I come here, for example today I went to Jumeriah Islands development; now this is about 2km from the coast and they are flooding the whole area to make it into the "island" that they want!!!

Although tomorrow is an Islamic holiday (no booze from sunset today to sunset tomorrow  ), I have 4 appointments.

Speak to you all soon.

After some major issues with my proposed "flight" to Abu Dhabi it turned out that I actually had to catch a bus. Not any bus but the same one used by the locals. Needless to say I was the only foreigner on the bus and the aircon' didn't work too well!

2 Hours later I arrived here. Taxis are so much cheaper up here too.

Today is not too hectic with only 2 appointments so there is a bit of time to have a look around a bit. My hotel is on the "beach" and I can already feel that it is going to be another scorcher today.

Tonight I am off to Doha (Qatar) departing at 19h00 and arriving at 18h55, after a 55 minute flight??? The joys of crossing time zones: land 5 minutes before you took off!

I have been back for 3 days and am again sitting at JIA waiting for a flight to Bangalore (India) via Singapore and Chennai (Madras). This is an 11 day trip this time and to some more exotic locations.

I will log in when I get Internet access and keep you all up dated on my travels again.

Well it seems that this thread belongs to Wart, most certainly the jet setter amongst us  . I don't get to say this often so going to brag a bit. I am currently sitting in the BA lounge at JIA waiting for the 20:15 to LHR. My first time in business class to an international destination, unfortunately just business but will try and fit in a few pints of lager for the boys....

They have live bands in the store, I have seen a few and the Metro is very convenient, as regards Ile Maurice I worked in that hole, only place in the World I have ever decked a "garcon"...

I can keep this thread going, cheapest place to buy computers is the Electronic centre in Dubai (not airport), spend toooo much time in Mud Island.. They are chnaging weekends to more western style very soon.

Arrived in Delhi after "holding" for 1hr10min 180sm out from the airport due to an excessive traffic in and out of the airport.

Well at least I only have 24 hours in this place and then I am on to Singapore for the weekend; then KL on Sunday afternoon and Jakarta on Monday evening. Back in RSA on Saturday and hopefully (if the wx is good) in the air as PIC on Sunday. I can't wait to get back!
