Daring.!!
And then there was this very young American teenager who landed on the Red Plain in the days of the cold war.
He was jailed afterwards for a period of time.! Remember reading about this many years ago and have forgotten other detail.

This guy... Mathias Rust (born 1 June 1968) is a German aviator known for his illegal landing near Red Square in Moscow on 28 May 1987. An amateur pilot, he flew from Finland to Moscow, being tracked several times by Soviet air defence and interceptors. The Soviet fighters never received permission to shoot him down, and several times he was mistaken for a friendly aircraft. He landed on Vasilevsky Descent next to Red Square near the Kremlin in the capital of the Soviet Union.

It might spoil the fun, but this M. Rust (he landed on coach parking area close to the Red Square) is real bonker. He is one of the guys that have a unbalanced giftedness, but emotionally unbalanced and lack of social competence. (Journalists described him as "psychologically unstable and unworldly in a dangerous manner)
After the Red Square incident (he wanted to end the cold war world by flying to the Kreml) Rust stabbed a female co-worker who had rejected him. The victim barely survived. Later he got convicted for fraud and stealing. I do not want to minimize his navigation skills in a pre GPS area (although you can see the red square from 30000 feet above, well I did, flying over the place in commercial airplane ).
He was not shot down by the Russians because he was flying deep (following the railway tracks) and his plane was mistaken for one of the soviet Kolchose planes flying drunken bigwigs around.
Certainly not a Pilot character I want to be associated with. ##
