Hi Wart,Wart wrote:Rudix, what are your exact plans for Saturday?
Being based at Cato we would like to get to meet you and wish you well as you depart. I trust you will be filling the human tank with one of Mildrid's breakfasts before you depart?
Hope to bump into you.
We have decided to rather fly back on Sunday, I will be there (Cato) on Saturday morning, the time depends on how early I can leave but it should be no later than 9am. I will be hanging around for most of the day at Cato.
Sunday morning the plan is to leave at first light.
I am looking forward to a Mildrid breakfast or two ! I have heard about them !
It is going to be great to meet everyone down there, I am looking forward to it !
Regards,
Rudi

You should quite easily make it from Cato to Newcastle. Another option might be to go Cato to Ladysmith to Newcastle to Secunda.
Ladysmith AVGAS Phone J Trollip 0366376566.
Newcastle B Vorster 083 277 5110 AVGAS 072 600 3390 Spare Hanger for visitors.
Dundee good Tar strip NO Fuel.
Battlefields inn AVGAS Prior arrangements.
You guys better check the WX, the wind is seriously to be considered on the moment, rather play it safe and prospone we don't need another accident.
Cheers
Bennie

Hi Bennie, thanks for the info, I will make a note of the numbers, yes, I think Newcastle would not be a problem. Will give you a call once I have an idea as to the ETA.Bennie Vorster wrote:You should quite easily make it from Cato to Newcastle. Yip, the wind is a big concern, the long term prediction looks good but we know that that is not always accurate. Will have to make the call on Sunday morning !
Hope to see you,
Regards,
Rudi

Hi everyone,
Just spoke to Dave at Cato and we made the decision to be rather safe than sorry and postpone the flight by one week. They have gale warnings down there and with the Berg in the way it is not worth taking the risk.
So, a bit of a let-down but I think it was the correct thing to do, I am still thinking of driving down there to go and collect some spares, something that I was going to do next weekend so I will just swop the two weekends around. I am looking forward to seeing the guys at Cato this weekend but Newcastle will only happen next weekend, if the weather allows !
Have a great weekend everyone,
Regards,
Rudi

Hi, yes, I think it is still in the plan, I am not sure if we will go next Saturday (12th) or Sunday, I will let you know as soon as it is confirmed.Delta VV wrote:Rudi,
Let me know if you're still intending to route via Secunda. You might arrive after the pumps are closed.
I would rather have ready in drums for you if you want.
Thanks again for the help and support !

Rudi

Hi everyone,
I drove down to collect a few spares (spare props, manuals, engine spares etc.) for the plane this weekend and the weather was NOT flying weather, there was a howling gale blowing on Saturday ! It was the correct decision not to try this weekend.....
I did get a chance to visit my baby ! Sitting patiently in a hanger full of large "Blik"

The plan is to try again next weekend, lets hope the weather is better !
Happy flying,
Regards,
Rudi
