Entrance is located at:
S 25 51'25.05”
E 28 27'10.89”


From the East Rand:

Take R21 North and take the R25 offramp. Turn East towards Bapsfontein/Bronkhorstspruit. Travel along this road for approx 15km till you reach the R50 t-junction, and then turn Right towards Delmas. After 1.6km you will reach the Bapsfontein 4-way stop, turn left onto the R25 again. Travel for approximately 15.8km and then just after crossing the railway bridge, turn left onto the R515 towards Cullinan. After 6km turn left again onto the R631. Go under the railway bridge and carry on straight for another 7km...start slowing down as the entrance to KittyHawk Airfield is a further 250m on your Left hand side.

From JHB/PTA

If Travelling form JHB, take the N1 North towards Polokwane, after passing the Atterbury Rd Turnoff, take the next exit which will be Lynwood Rd offramp. At the Junction turn East (right) and continue on in Lynwood Road. After 5km you will pass The Grove Shopping Centre on the LHS....after 7.4km you will cross Solomon Mathlangu Drive...keep going until you see the Boschkop turnoff to the left at the 12.4km mark.
Travel along the Boschkop tar road for 9.8km and the Entrance to Kitty Hawk Airfield will be on your Right Hand Side.

Please support them well chaps, the prices are very reasonable and they for the 2nd year in a row have gone to great lengths to accommodate us!

All food/cooldrinks/beers will be purchased as we did last year on a food token system.

Daar sal Saterdag oggend vanaf 05h00 koffie tafel wees waar hulle gratis kan koffie maak en so ook Sondag oggend.
There will be a self service Coffee Station on Sat and Sun morning from 5am for pilots to help themselves...free of charge.

Anyone with special dietry/religious food requirements please feel free to contact Wilma at Kitty Hawk Restaurant and she will try her best to accommodate your needs.

Controlled airfield for the day, so call 10 minutes out on 120.20, and they will give you joining instructions.

Class D airspace is FULL ATC CONTROL 08h00 - 17h00 (Local time) - ATC's take over

Before 08h00
You will have to listen out on 120.65 and then transmit your intentions. The circuit is already a buzz so you may just have to bleed into the existing traffic.

08h00 - 17h00 (Local time)
Call 5 miles out on 120.2 for joining and landing instructions
120.65 becomes ground frequency!!!

Please note that this is not an AFIS (Advisory) service.... IT IS FULL ATC CONTROL. THEY ARE GOING TO TELL YOU WHAT TO DO. LISTEN LISTEN LISTEN.....
If you are going to jabber and have conversations on this frequency, you will be asked to vacate the airspace and try again....

Please chaps... this is the chance to hone and practice those skills. The controllers are from FAGG, Lanseria & Wonderboom. This is the exposure you don't normally get!

Nearly there guys!

Just a request to all pilots flying in for the day to give the Marshals your full co operation and to follow their instructions.

Parking space will be conjested and you will need to park as close as possible to the aircraft alongside you. You will most likely be asked to shut down short of the intended position and then hand manoever the aircraft into the spot the marshal has indicated to you.
Please Chaps...make sure you position your aircraft as close as possible to your neighbour and do not give the marshal grief should he/she ask you to get in closer, they have a really difficult task to perform so please give them your full attention and co operation.
If you are staying over for the evening please indicate this to the marshal at the earliest opportunity so that they can position you in the middle. (IE they will park you in due to the fact that you will not be leaving soon).

I also ask please that ALL pilots leave a piece of paper displayed either inside the windshield or on the seat (clearly visible) with the pilot's name, and cellphone number so that if the aircraft needs to be moved or attended to somehow.... the marshal can at least contact you while you are milling around the apron.
