Bundy, ek weet jy praat die taal very deliciously. ^

If I did not go to an English school and Dionne was not an English lass I would have stayed a mono-linguist rock spider. I still sometimes throw someone with a rock and get confused about those guys is going to fly. ## When I listen to a recording of myself I understand why people leave when I start talking.

Had a lekker flight this morning. Dionne made me a new seat and panniers. Did not have time to fit them yet but they is looking so goodly... ##

Hey'a Al. That music is forever....I like the other stuff but it does not do much for me....that is goose flesh material. Even my kids agree? It is timeless...I have a few others which give me goose flesh...and none are pop! Vangelis..Mike Oldfield!!, Pink Floyd, Sky...The Who, ....Procal Harem, Cream....Even the Doors....Diar Straits...music and flying and being with friends fulfills me (^^)

My eldest is 29....not far from your age...and she agrees. (^^)

Howzit guys and girls (^^)

I was at microland yesterday for some maintenance and I still have an intermitent engine, it works when ever it wants to, luckily this time I wasn't in the air (**)
Then when everybody tells you " ek weet nie" i'm pretty much stuck with a gliding paper weight at the moment

I did find some crap in the fuel when I started draining it yesterday, which begs the question, what does the fuel filter do :?:

Hope to see all of you back in the air very soon (^^)

PS.

PLEASE HELP :(>

Hi Nick, saw you but we were on our way out. You were parked at a different hangar :?:

Intermittent faults are difficult to pinpoint. Basically for an engine that quits after easy / normal starting, it can be lack of fuel or lack of spark or both. Because you have duel ignition I would start with fuel. This can be due to dirt/water or, although very rarely, the fuel pump. When your engine quits, immediately take off the float bowls and check the level, in the air this is very difficult. :? There is a spec for this level, I will check tomorrow. If the level is good it is spark. :(

Hope this helps.

Ok, this is also assuming the plugs and filters are clean and in good condition. A blocked air filter also causes intermittent problems. Wash every 25 hrs in warm sunlight soap WATER. And, on a 582, oil with filter/fabric oil. On 503 no oil. I use K&N.

Thanks Paul, i've cleaned and oiled the filters, replaced the spark plugs and drained the fuel until the dirt stopped coming out, will be doing that again after it stood for a while. Gonna replace the fuel filter next.

I will need some help to clean the jets though but hans said he will help!

Not nice being grounded (**)

I feel for you Nick, I saw your frustration....and an intermittent engine issue is a confidence killer of note. :(

I have no idea what could be causing it but let Hans work through it slowly until you find the source of the issue. No good having 20 different opinions? He knows that engine.... :)

Hope you find the source of the problem asap. (^^)

Hallo Nick.Sometimes eggballs form in the jets because of old fuel or the holes gets block.I think that's the problem.Let us know what the cause was when you sorted the problem.

Thanks for all the help (^^)

I did find small dirt particles(2 - 3 mm in size) in my fuel when I started draining it but I cannot believe why the fuel filter could not stop them? (**)

Good luck with the fault finding Nick. Strange that dirt gets past the filter :? Failed filter element or maybe fuel lines ( after filter to carbs) internally brittle causing muck in the jets? As Alan says, Hans will know/help out.
Miss you all, 8 weke sonder tjomme en vlieg :x
