Well despite my serious lack of flying these last few months, at least I could again enjoy the company of my fellow Tailwinds...on a spectacularly sunny day, a cold one (or 10) in my hand under the lapa.

What a great bunch of happy flyers....and our "membership" even extends over the horizon all the way to Secunda. (^^) Was lekker to have the man with the bright orange shoes in attendance. (^^)

Awesome atmosphere, awesome people. Proud to be a part of it all.

Cant wait for the next edition. vhpy (!!)

No excuses for those friggin orange shoes  ...however, in my defence, I need to start some serious training for a biathlon, brand new running shoes need to be "worn in"
I agree fully, what a great bunch of people, not only pilots, but families enjoying each others company (^^) I'm in here for the long run (^^) Awesome!

Heyaa...the Tailwinds rock. (^^) (^^)

What an amaizing flight to Kroon and back. Smooth... At last we had a propper fly and braai. What a great turn out we had, both at Kroon and at Microland. To Andries and family, thanks so much for joining us from Secunda. Jy sal moet nader trek my ou maat. I wonder if you can get those lumo shoes of yours with flashing LED's buit in...then you definitly won't get lost. Thanks to all who brought something along, it is realy deeply appreciated. Then, to those old timers who have now also joined in....next time please stay for longer and come fly with the gaggle. We don't bite and are quite well behaved in the sky. ($$)

Merv and a few others still let off some hot air baloons after dark....they were disapointing. Two out of 5 were successfull and if Merv can't make it fly, it ain't gona fly. The big ones we brought back from Thailand were much better, but they are finished. Checked the Chines shops yesterday...but they only sell the small cr@py ones.

The Kroon fly in was such great fun and success. Guy's it is time Microland does similar. Our 3rd Saturday monthly braais are fine for us local Microlanders. Our starting time of 10 am is too late for other pilots from other airfields to fly in and join us. I have heard this comment from many pilots who said they would come it it were earlier. Our airfield is also very centrally situated and is right next to the Pindene and the Kyalami VFR routes for those pilots from the west to join in. Lets organise a breakfast fly-in in the near future? vhpy vhpy

We have all the facilities including a large braai plate to fry the eggs, sausages and bacon. (^^) I am sure we can also make use of Johannes to help with the cooking and cleaning. He jumps at the extra income. (^^)

I would not object at all mate...a good idea, also creates another avenue of income to the ML "kitty".
May have to "service" that gas hob though first....
When, what time, and what help do you need....? (^^)

Got my hands full at the mo with the shootout, but we are due for a 912 lecture as well. (!!)

No objection to a flyinn - just be sensitive to the training school on Saturdays; a student could be very intimidated with so many trikes flying in.

Point taken Faiz, but all the airfields that I have been to for a breakfast have that situation. The school and us must manage it. It will also be a good experience for the more experienced student. Very real once you have your license.

Alan, I was not thinking of in the immediate future. More like April or May. And one or two per year. Then the WX is at its best and not yet cold. The gas burner and plate will need a service that is for sure, it is not broken, just in need of a good clean, jets removed and cleaned and a degrease. We will bring our No 9 gas bottle. (^^)

All Tailwinders,
I have just received my marching orders for Singapore and will be leaving tomorrow, for 8 weeks :o This means missing the next braai, including Kittyhawk :x I will definitely be there in spirit :( I will stay in touch on the forum, post a few pictures etc, this will surely help pass the time :) Thanks once again for the cameraderie (^^) be assured that I will resume any flying or social event with the tailwinders as soon as I am back in SA. Fly safe and enjoy!
