Hi all
As the title states I was wondering if there are any forum members who own and fly a Quicksilver Sport 2S.
I am interested in any experiences anyone is willing to share regarding building and flying a Sport2S.
Any Quicksilver Sport 2S owners on this forum?

Send MMW here on Microlighters a pm he is an instructor on them and currently training the owner off one at Rhinopark. He can answer your questions or refer you to the owner, note he is on vacation for the week and don't know if he is looking at his mail.
Also look at his ad, MMW is selling his Koala for a good price, might consider that for a first plane?
Good luck.

Hi,
I have a post here "Fixed wing microlights" where i have been asking some questions on 3axis microlights and specifically the Quicksilver 2S. Perhaps you can take a look at it. I am also keen on building the 2S kit, but i need to do a bit more homework before i commit myself to taking a loan of R200k !! I will keep a watch out here for more info on your post. thank you

Thanks for the replies.
JvTonder: I will pm MMW as you suggest.
crossing16: I have had a look at your thread. I will keep you posted on info I find on the Sport 2S.
Goose: I know you can get "better" options for the price. I am specifically wanting a side by side two seater open cockpit for fun flying "around the patch", as you put it. The Sport 2S is the closest I can find to what i want.

Hi All,
I am looking to do get into (whats seems to be) the fun world of microlighters.
Is there anyone out there with a Basic 4000 or Quicksilver MX II who can take me for an "Intro Flight."
I am based in Pretoria but will travel anywhere in Gauteng...
Fuel and breakfast on me

Hi All,
I am very new to flying and in my search for information on the Sports 2S, have come across this forum and this thread. I have been gathering data on the 2S I am flying as I wish to compare these real world numbers with others' real world numbers.
The 2S Setup is as Follows:
Quicksilver Sports 2S Kit; HKS 700E Engine; Aerolux 3 Blade 68-Inch prop pitch so RPM is around 6100 at WOT (around 5800 static on the ground); with BRS
ISSUES ON Maiden: CHT went above 170 - Solved by fabricating a wind scoop for the cylinder heads;
Performance:
Sea level, temp at around 32C
Everything at 40mph; take off; climb; turns; cruise
Climb rate with passenger (approx 170 kilos) side by side, and a full tank of gas, is around 200 feet per min; way better with no passenger but I have not gotten data on it.
Glide at Engine Idle from 800 feet and 50mph is 1km; almost a min to descend
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxB_mQ ... sp=sharing
Anyone else with data on the 2S? Would appreciate the information.
Cheers all! Will post more data when I get them solo. (btw on solo with no weights on the other seat, I had to hold right aileron a bit through the flight.)
