Fuel tank fix?

Postby afterburn » Thu Nov 07, 2013 8:32 am

Is it possible to fix a hole in a fuel tank?. I have a 80l fuel tank for a raptor with a hole in one of the side walls. A friendly gave it to me for free. Can it be fixed and by whom?

Daar is twee opsies , in die agterstrate van die stad kan jy n "fix" kry (**) , ander gaan kuier by witwillem hy maak hom reg met gebreide dadels , solank daar nie olie in is nie , as daar wel olie in was , was die tenk uit met PSG wat jy by die seep winkels kan kry  (^^) Leprechaun

Depending on the size of the hole, the EC776 'Scotch Weld' from 3M: http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/e ... 3HXBTMF8gl could work very well.

Pour it in, swirl it around, turn the tank on each side, rest it for a few min. Pour the rest out and let it set for a couple of weeks. Smells hideous. For a 10 gallon Land Rover tank I use about 200ml. Price is between R400 and R500/liter.

Cheers,

V.
