To all, thank you for the support and the award.

The MISASA Committee have for many years not nominated fellow committee members for awards. The award was a pleasant surprise that raised, for me, the fact that each and every member of the committee has given of their time and energy to our sport. Without the collective effort of the committee none of us would be able to have ideas implemented. In accepting the award I thus pay tribute to the rest of the committee for making and taking the ideas that have had value.

This thread has aired some negative sentiments that I feel need to be addressed. As an individual member and as the Editor of our mag I have, at times, been actively critical of the Aero Club. This said I have always tried to be constructively critical where I felt that this was necessary and have maintained a focus upon what is right and not who. To be clear, I have always believed in the value that the Aero Club adds to our sport. The collective strength of all sub-sections is important and it offers a base for enabling service delivery. For about " a quarter of a tank of petrol" from all members the possibilities for enhanced performance improvement are vast. At the last Aero Club Board Meeting I hope that this "penny may have dropped" and I look forward to the next AGM offering an choice of project possibilities instead of being restricted to the usual account of how the "roof over their heads" was maintained.

Let us focus on service delivery improvement within a tolerant culture where the characteristics that offend some are overlooked. All too often it is those that are contributing that attract the attention of others. We need to stir, but let us all stir in the same direction in support of empowering the committees, at all levels, to improve service delivery.

Congratulations to Louis & Paul.

Thank you and fly safe
