AP Charges

Postby bryan » Mon Oct 28, 2013 1:59 pm

Without intending to embaress anybody, can someone please give some ball park rates for servicing a 503,582, Jabiru 2.2 and Rotax 912. Also the costs for ATF on trikes and LSA aircraft. What do MPI for the same aircraft cost. We are trying to come to some agreement on costing with our local AP,s and do not want any party to feel ripped off. You can email me at bryan@hyperlink.co.za Any suggestions would be helpful. Paperwork will be sent by owner of aircraft to authorities.

I strongly suggest you contact Paul kinsley at FASI or Norman Stapleberg also at FASI - both are APs and their charges will surprise you. Be careful, some APs will take you for a ride and BS you all the way. I speak from experience.
Paul's number is 083 two three 9 891 four

Normans is not on my new phone, will update tomorrow at office.

rates are usually per hour - I know Paul charges around R450 for an annual inspection, BUT - it takes him nothing less than 2 hours, he does a PROPER job. On my plane he had his moerse hand held lead light/SCOPE kinda thing and climbed under the plane, inside, front rear .... ya well he snagged plenty things, mostly small "insignificant" like a loose arm rest, a loose rivet on the door, a door that doesnt close properly, door catching on the stabiliser arm when opening.... etc etc

Norman, i think it is around R250 an hour.... not 100% sure though.
