Importing a Blade

Postby RV4ker (RIP) » Wed Jun 21, 2006 11:50 am

Possibly due to flood of 912's, I see couple 582 Blades are avail in Uk for less than 6000GBP. www.bmaa.org. What would costs be to ship & import one of these. Will agents in UK assist (big G?) I know Redeye & Demon hold these types in high regard? Not buying (yet  )

My sums...
6000 @ say R12.50:1 = R75000
Import say R25000
Total cost in region of R100000.

How does that compare to a local 582 cost?

British imports

Most of the adds over here for microlights for sale are on the BMAA web site

www.bmaa.org

this site is powered by another site, but all the planes featured are not always the same so try both, the other is

www.afors.co.uk

I looked at a very nice Mainair Mercury 582 (65hp) with about 250 hours on it for only £5200.

If you need any help get in touch.

So how does one buy "safely" and get the trike into a container? Without going to the UK to see and pack the plane?

If me I would try to use agents in UK (for a fee) to do packing same way Demon's new baby is commin. Their fee will still be cheaper than flying out there even if you know what you are doing....

If genuine interest I am sure the boys on the forum could help point you in right direction....
