Back in 1964...

Postby Wart » Wed Jun 14, 2006 10:13 am

I just had to share this with everyone on the Forum as it concerns a certain individual, let us call him Mr. XXX for now, very well know to us all. In order to protect the innocent names have been with-held (at this stage  ):-

Mr. XXX in an attempt to show that he is proud of his age to a very nice, younger, softness proclaims, "In 1964 I was in Pre-school and I bet you wheren't even thought of?"
To which the softness replies, "What, you where in Pre-school in 1964! As a teacher I suppose!"

I just thought that such a quick witted answer had to be shared with everyone.

.. marching, salutin and so much more
.. we didn't fall, or cry out when sore
.. comforts were few, but that was before
.. we laid eyes on that sweet young w@*re
.. up there in that awful bloody cruel & senseless war
  :? :D

.. ok so it was 10 years later than 64  8)

I haven't run into him yet either. But then I am currently on crutches having ruptured an Achilles tendon so no flying for me for a couple of months! Looks like I am joining the ranks of the old balies like Morph and Demon! At least I now have a reason to sit in front of the tv on Saturday and watch all four rugby tests. And my wife can't complain if I ask her to bring me drinks and food - every cloud has a silver lining!

Come CW tell us about it. Was it some act of bravery? Were you rescuing a maiden in distress or is this another one of those “Bacchus and his love for Alternatives” stories?

I don't know how you did it - I find just going to do a pee a pain in the butt at the moment. Maybe the drugs were better back in the old days?

Just to set the record straight I was refereeing a rugby game at the time - the direction of play went one way and my leg the other - something had to give. First week was pretty crappy but they have just fitted me with a very sexy "burgundy" coloured poly-something cast that is a lot lighter and really supports my leg. Amazing stuff - they wet it and then wrap it around your leg and within five minutes you have a rock hard cast.

Might even give flying a go!
