Hey, what is this all about. As I said when I did something stupid (see my 31 December 2005 log), I would rather learn from someone else's mistakes, so own up!

Mmmm, the story ….

According to Bacchus, he departed Altona for Morning Star and had to return due to high wind problems ??? He said from the NW.

The official or real story…. ??

Here's a heads-up for you guys who haven't kept up with other threads on the forum: check out Flying Events, John Young's coming to CT - Bacchus has already told the story on Sun 11 June, 10:14am.
Good going, Bacchus 8) seems it was more of a braai day than a fly day :!:

I promised you guys I will be there on Saturday morning, but after taking off from FAFK it took me about 4 hours to get to Altona ( 15km's!).
Klaas from Altona would have joined me. Everything was smooth, but hey, the north-westerly was pumping 1000 feet up. Could not get anywhere. And John still said to me the day before "remember you are boertjies, if you say you will be here I expect you te be here!"

Anyway sorry guys. We did put in a effort but it was just not possible.
Next time though.
Ja-nee, Scribbles, the story that Bacchus decided to tell is not the “hole” truth.

It appears that only Dragonfly knows the “whole” truth.

Bacchus ou Swaar, come speak !! - reveal the “hole” truth. Scribbles won’t read your reply [or should that read confession of the “hole” truth ??].

Conditions on Saturday were not condusive to flying, which is why we had a few beers, no other reason, really (^^) :>>

At the airfield the wind was a strong Easterley, turning Northwesterley at about 1000ft. This meant there was one serious horizontal wind shear, that I felt, and I told everyone, including a prospective new Challenger buyer who wanted a little flip in AUKie, that I was not happy with the conditions and that I would rather have a beer (^^) . Did I mention this part :?:

Anyway, we opted rather to stay on the ground, and have a beer (^^) (^^) (^^) (^^) (^^)

I have been told that too much alcohol affects your memory

Oh yes and we did have a beer 8)

Hmmm embarrasing or rude or both
My klere is darem al droog!
hmm got something to do with unexpected moisture, or release of moisture, or getting wet, perhaps from the inside, perhaps from the outside
Heard you had a near-miss experience.....
in other words "near" means very close to the body, "near-miss" means hit, Does it have something to do with not getting something out in time before the waterworks started flowing?
